There is clearly a need for a new way of working. Not only are we beginning to reach the limits of the current model, but a major strategic advantage can be obtained by shifting to a new model. We are entering an entirely new age – one in which we are redefining where and how we work.
As a result of various social developments or trends, such as generation Z on the work floor, mobility, but also more burnouts. Employers have to focus more on providing a modern workplace to their employees. This is no longer just a desk at the office, but also a home office or on-the-road office.
The development and transformation of the workplace is geared to offering an increasingly more diverse workforce everything they need to be able to develop their full potential, create commitment and work together. Organizations must ensure seamless and safe experiences which do not hinder productivity, inspiration and the exchange of ideas.

On to the workplace of the future
It is a giant leap to the workplace of the future. Apart from the culture and the work floor, the technology has to change too.
For optimal results, it’s best to look at everything at the same time, from a clean slate. But you need not do everything at one go. There are certain small adjustments that can take away all sorts of day-to-day frustrations. Here we outline a number of options per space that you can consider in order to start making progress from day one. In addition, we present ideas about what you might see surface in those spaces in the future.
Meeting room: focus on decisions
Most meeting rooms consist of a large fixed table where each person sits down with his/her own laptop. A flipchart or whiteboard and a beamer complete the equipment. In many modern meeting rooms we come across the same problems: not everyone is able to connect to the projector easily, no good conferencing equipment is available, etc.

Workshop: focus on creation
This zone doesn’t exist yet in most offices. It has to respond to the need to design something, organise a training course, etc. Most companies either provide a multifunctional space for this, or just provide an extra or larger screen for designers.

Workshop: embark on VR
If you want to embark on VR, performance is crucial. Without sufficient performance, the refresh rate will be too low, and the images will be unstable and make you feel nauseous. You have two options nowadays for a quality VR experience. Either you opt for a powerful workstation with a headset, which is sufficient, as long as you do not need too much freedom of movement.

Today's desks are often a mess. People take a desk and fill it with paper and junk. This is not very inviting to often change desk.

Quiet zone: focus on production
A quiet room today is only aimed at eliminating ambient noise. A small cubicle where you can make calls without interruption or where you can sit in front of your laptop screen. This can be vastly improved by making different types of quiet zones: a space to read a long article, a space to make videocalls, a space to practise a difficult presentation, a space to reflect or recharge, etc.

Hoffice
The most underappreciated component of the work environment is the home office. People increasingly work from home and say they are often more productive at home than in the office. And this despite the fact many employees don't have access to an external screen, a good keyboard and external mouse, good conferencing equipment, etc.
